Leo Lions pierce the heart of Spartans, 7-2


Both teams had many players who could not suit up due to previous game misconducts. Alex Mulholland started for the Leo Lions and made 17 saves. Conner Gould would start for the Spartans. 

First Period

Homestead would get the first tally of the game. Jacob Gerber was able to bat it in for the lead at 10:57. Leo would tie it up as Colin Robison would get help from Colten Calhoun and Alex Hendricks at 8:07. The Lions would pull ahead a little over a minute later as Benny Meyer got his first of the season at 7:23. Calhoun would score for the Lions at 5:19 with a helper from Robison. 17 seconds later, Finefrock would score with helpers from Calhoun and Robison. Conner Gould would get tossed after letting in 4 goals in 5 minutes. Alex Dougherty took over. Homestead would end their first period with a hooking call to Cole Strick with 2:38 left. 

Second Period

Leo would score twice in the second. Robison would get a goal 39 seconds in the middle frame. Hudson Roth would score at 8:46 with a helper from Calhoun. 

Third Period

Homestead’s Andrew Litwinko would get a trip at 10:14. Homestead scored their second of the game as Martinsky got his second point, this time a goal as Mason Gutmann got the assist. At 4:22, the Spartans would have Litwinko getting a 10-minute unsportsmanlike. Leo would score their last goal of the game at 2:37 as Hendricks scored from Caden Austin and Benny Meyer. Homestead would finish the game with a 10 and 2 going to Daniel Martinsky, a Charge and Misconduct.
