Carroll Chargers shutout FW Vipers, 4-0


The Vipers got some of their first wins of the season when performing incredibly in the Summit City Crossover Classic. Brody Rosswurm suited up in the net again for the Vipers and stopped 33 shots from the powerful Carroll offense. Luke Vanantwerp got his first shutout of the season, making 14 saves on 14 shots.

First Period

Camden Blauvelt slotted into the lineup for the Carroll Chargers wearing the number 18. The freshman got his first goal at the Varsity level with an assist from Colsen White at 13:26 to lead the Charge and the scoring.

Second Period

Dylan Braun and Finn Cupp for Carroll were able to work their magic as they pulled out Rosswurm to slip the puck in nearside post at 10:21. The Vipers would take their first penalty of the game 10 seconds later at 10:11 as Grant Knudson would head off for a hook. Simon Watson would join him in the penalty box at 9:58 for a high stick. Carroll would go on the 5-on-3 man advantage, and Viktor Wolff would get his fourth of the season, assisted by AJ Baldwin and Dylan Carteaux. Carroll would take their first penalty of the game as Dylan Braun would get a 10 and 2 for slashing and unsportsmanlike conduct at 4:12.

Third Period

Dylan Parks would get called for a slash with just over a minute eclipsed in the final frame. Captain Carter Gnau and Viktor Wolff would capitalize off the Vipers’ giveaway at the blue line and shot the puck, which trickled in behind Brody Rosswurm. Two minutes later, William LaLonde would head to the box for the Chargers because of a trip. The Vipers would get two more penalties to round out the game.

Luke Vanantwerp made 14 out of 14 saves, and Brody Rosswurm made 33 saves on 37 shots from the Carroll offense. Tonight, the FWAHA honored Veterans Day. Below is a list of players and their family members we thank for their selfless service to our country.
