Brett Rump has been a life-long resident of northeast Indiana and has been involved in playing, coaching and broadcasting local sports since the 1970’s.
He played basketball and baseball at Concordia Lutheran High School and was a starter on the Cadets 1981 Sectional Championship basketball team.
On the diamond, he was the Cadets’ ace and led the SAC in ERA while holding the school record with 14 doubles in a season. He played collegiately at Valparaiso University.
He’s been the voice of high school sports on 1380 the Fan since 2011 and host of the Sports Rush since 2016. He also is the voice of Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons basketball since 2014 and regularly contributes to TinCaps broadcasts.
He has also been productive outside of sports with four children and two step-children.
His “day job” is working as a marketing/advertising account executive for 1380 the Fan/Federated Media, a job he’s held for 13 years.
