Indy 500 to be run with fans at half capacity

The 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 is still set to run on Aug. 23 but with fans at half capacity.

Race ticket holders are receiving an email detailing the steps on how to designate their ticket selection. Those using all of their ticket allotment will only be guaranteed that half of their tickets will be in their regular area. Additional seats may be moved to another seating area for requests with more than half the original ticket order.

Fans who are 65 or older or have underlying health conditions are still encouraged to stay at home.

Ticket account holders must log into their account here by Monday, July 6 to make their selections. New tickets will then be mailed to customers.

This year’s race has already sold an estimated 175,000 tickets.
