Indiana high school sporting events might be impacted by the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) soon.

The Indiana High School Athletic Association has announced plans to hold a news conference at noon in its offices on N. Meridan Street in Indianapolis today.

Commissioner Bobby Cox will speak on plans for the remaining games of the state’s boys’ basketball tournament, as well as this Saturday’s girls’ gymnastics state finals in Muncie.

The press conference will be livestreamed at IHSAAtv.org and on the IHSAA Facebook page. We’ll have an update here afterward.

The announcement comes less than 24 hours after the NBA and NBA G-League suspended the rest of their seasons, and the NCAA banned all but close family and essential staff from its postseason basketball tournaments.
